A WOMAN'S WORTH
I know women's month is already over, but I gotta say this...
When we read Gen 2:18-22;
In the story of creation we see, through the making of a woman:
- God preparing the world for the first coming of Jesus; thereby unfolding His plan to reconcile man, who was yet to sin, with Himself.
- God answering the yet to be spoken questions of human production
- God defeating the enemy, satan, even before the battle began.
- God giving man the power to have lineage and legacy through offspring
So....
Little girl, young lady, young woman, your worth is not validated by your looks, social status, popularity and words of man;
Neither is your beauty validated by artificial cosmetics and the like;
All these can simply enhance what already is;
Who you are:
You're an answer to a question no one has even asked yet
You bring to the world what only you have the capacity to nurture: which is life
Your strength supersedes human understanding because it was divinely granted
What anyone else says about you can never alter what God said when He made you... A helper suitable for mankind
Embrace your worth from the story of creation, not your birth circumstances; you might have been born through & amidst struggles, but you were made for the world's need; your existence completes God's puzzle of creation; live up to it and let nothing deter you from your worth
Mark 5:41
And having laid hold of the hand of the child, Jesus says to her, Talitha koumi, which is, interpreted, Young girl, I say to thee, Arise.
Arise, know who you are....

There Is A Balm In Gilead
SCRIPTURE READING
Jeremiah 8v18-22
BALM
Noun
A fragrant ointment that has a comforting, soothing, or restorative effect.
I kinda hijacked a conversation between a friend and his friend.....again! Hahahah! So he asked me to comment about the subject. So, here goes....
This was a time when the house of God's people had adapted or conformed to the trends and ways of the world in their time (sadly, like it is with us today). Now, God, through the prophet asks a question, "Why is that my people are not well or saved, even thought there is a physician amongst them?". The Balm In Gilead was symbolical of The Presence Of the Life Giving Word Of God, which could have been salvation, as it had always been, to the people of God. The issue here was that people had stopped seeking for a Word from The Lord and as a result had become sick physically, spiritually and otherwise. Now God reminds them that,

There Is A Balm (Healer, Comforter, Restorer, Saviour, Redeemer, etc) in their midst.
But, here's where it gets interesting, the Balm would only work if they used it..... Heheheheeeeeee! Good Lord! Told yal not to get me started!
Even in our day, that Balm, the Life Giving Word Of God, Jesus, is still in our midst; but He won't do unless we ask. The church suffers today because we lack the authority (which we have) to ask (James 4v3).
The Balm we need for our daily lives is still there, readily available for us to use.
May God help us understand that, There is a Balm in our midst; there is a healer around...
PRAYER
Thank You Father for revealing to me that that Balm which was available to your people in the days of old is still available even to me today. I will, as of today, use it in and around me, so that Your Name may be glorified. This I declare in the authority I have by the Name Jesus, Amen.

It Is For Good
SCRIPTURE READING
GENESIS 39 - 41
"...but God meant it for good... to save many people alive." Gen 50v20, NKJV
As I was having a chat with two of my brothers in the Lord, (or maybe eavesdropping on their conversation, which I forcefully joined...lol), I heard the Spirit of God speak to me so clearly about something that many of us go through and yet never realize. This came to me in a very much practical way, and I was like, WHOA!?!?... (and this is where I then joined the conversation)...
In the book of Genesis, we read about the story of Joseph being sold by his brothers and later imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. Then, YEARS LATER, he is taken out of prison at the king's command and made vice president (Gen 41v40).
So.... here's Joseph going through all this infliction WHISLT DOING GOOD; he never sinned, (at least from what we read); yet he went through a whole lot of turmoil; even during the turmoil he remained faithful to the will of God.....
....and this is usually the time when many of us ask the questions, WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG?, IS GOD MAD AT ME?, DOES GOD CARE ABOUT ME?, etc....
Now, God gave me this very practical and logical answer to these questions... I hope you get this revelation too and it helps you.... (suspense is now mounting, isn't it?!?, lol)
Joseph had an assignment to carry out... He wasn't gonna be able to do this remotely. He had to be IN PRISON to do it. And just like everyone else in prison, his situation wasn't any good. He had no rights and privileges like any other prisoner. He lost everything he had. The dreams he interpreted and the prosperous things he did in prison were part of his assignment. This is why he HAD TO BE IN PRISON.
So, just like Joseph, many of us find ourselves in prison-like situations. You continue to serve God faithfully, but you remain in prison; you help others find their way out of situations through ministry (just like Joseph and the butler in prison), yet you remain in prison; you will do good and many will be saved, but yet remain in prison.
But, just like Joseph, when God takes you out of the prison, the rise you will experience will not be comprehensible to the human mind; God will raise you so much that it will undoubtedly be evident that it was He who raised you.
So, is this practical or what? Your God-ordained assignments might take you through prison; Hold on, the rise after the prison is at hand; stay faithful and grounded; God has not forgotten about you; He's preparing you for something greater; He is proud of you.
PRAYER:
Thank You Father for the love You have for me; that You constantly remind me, when I forget, that You are still here for me, working all things out for my good even when there's not good noticeable around me. I pray that You continue being my strength through the prison time. This I pray believing, thankfully, that You can and will do what I ask, in the Name Jesus. AMEN

MADE FOR THIS (You have what it takes)
SCRIPTURE READING : JEREMIAH 1
v5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." (NIV)
One of the most tragic things that we as the body of Christ struggle with in our daily walk is the internal battle of whether we will or will not make it in our walk of salvation, especially when faced with trials. There is a tendency of many thinking that this means one's faith is weak or inadequate. This is far from it. Our adversary, the devil, has one tactic that he implements when trying to get us off course.... that is PLANTING DOUBT.
He keeps whispering questions that always prove us inadequate of carrying out the work laid for us or even living a successful life faithfully. This is the only way he gets to us. The rest, he leaves to us to make decisions. He cannot force us to do what we decide not to do. We have authority over him, but we don't know how to use it; and so, we give in to doubt.
The first chapter of Jeremiah assures us that we have what it takes to carry out the work laid in front of us. How? WE WERE CREATED FOR IT. In verse 5 God reminds the prophet that, even before he was in his mother's womb his life was already mapped out by God to be a prophet to the nations. Take a second and imagine this.... before your mom and dad knew they'd meet (if they did)... before they even planned on having kids... God had already mapped out what it is you were to do on earth. Wow!! Wow!! Wow!!
So, my life already has a purpose?!? Yes it does! That purpose was set by God even before you saw the light of day (or the darkness of your mom's womb).
Then God continues in this chapter to assure us that He will protect us against all those who rise against us; He says He has given us His Word, so that we know what, when and how to say what He commands us to.
I especially love the last verse, where God says, "THEY WILL FIGHT AGAINST YOU BUT WILL NOT OVERCOME YOU' FOR I AM WITH YOU AND WILL PROTECT YOU,"...
God doesn't promise a life without battles, but He does promise victory. This is awesome.
So, let's take heart and be encouraged, knowing that our struggles are not here to tear us down, for our victory is certain if we trust in God.
PRAYER:
Father I thank You for my life; I thank You that I have all that I need to carry out the life You created me to live; I thank You for reminding me that the battles I have are already won because You fight for me. From this day forward, I will no longer feel inadequate, but I will do what You say confidently and excellently. With You by my side, I will prevail. All this I declare in the Name, Jesus, AMEN

WARNING AGAINST IDOLATRY
SCRIPTURE READING: HOSEA 8
In this day, the church has been made into a circus of crazy blessing-seeking holiness-rejecting congregants. All we want to hear is how God will make us rich and prosperous. At the beginning of every year, we always get prophecies that make us jump up and down like crazy, because we will get this and that; because we're in line to receive, receive, receive. I haven't seen or heard prophecies that are in line with the purging of sin in the church; how God is displeased with the sinful church, as He used to do in the bible days. We don't want to hear such prophecies; even though they're more profitable than the 'bless-me-now' prophecies we prefer.
We have mastered the man-orchestrated procedure of worship, yet neglected the biblical requirements of the worshiper. We have chosen to squeeze our perverted view of "God's will" into our man-made patterns.
By so doing, we have become accomodative of sin and all that is displeasing to God.
I, therefore, declare 2013 a year of REPENTANCE! This is the year of building a church that will be pleasing to God in every aspect of life; a church that will seek God above fame and wealth; a church that will model Christ as Christ wants, through the leading of the Holy Spirit; a church that will stand out to please God against all odds and norms. I decree and declare that in 2013 we will be a church that will seek God until there's ALL OF GOD and NONE OF US to show.
PRAYER
Thank You Father for all Your goodness to us as Your people, even when we err. Thank You for the reminders about who we ought to be in You. May Your Name be glorified in our time and time to come because of the lives that we live. We decree and declare that we will adhere to Your Word everyday of our lives. We will be a church that will be blameless as You have said in Your Word. Tis all we will do if Your Holy Spirit enables us. We therefore ask that You constantly revive us as we seek Your face each day. This we ask believing thankfully in Jesus' Name. AMEN

My Mandate
While the year begins and people chase their own resolutions, I see it fit and profitable for me to be always found in the will of God who called me.
So, I, therefore, am determined to do one thing in 2013; TO COMPLETE THE MANDATE FOR WHICH I AM CHOSEN BY YHWH.
I have learnt that if, in life, one puts first God's business, all else falls well into place. This may seem far fetched, but I am first hand experience witness to God's faithfulness when it comes to Him honoring His word. So I dare you to take it as your own plan for 2013 to do His will; to surrender your will for His. I know He will perfect all that which concerns you, if you stay in His will.
So i ask, What is your goal?
PRAYER
Father, thank You for the gift of life; that You saw it fit for me to enter 2013 is because of Your never ending grace and not my good works; so I therefore just want to say thank You. I purpose to always be found in Your will this year. Please help me in this regard; for I cannot do it on my own strength. This I ask believing and thankfully in Jesus' Name, AMEN

KEEP YOUR JOY, PRAYER & PRAISE IN CHECK
SCRIPTURE READING
1 Thessalonians 5v16-18
"Rejoice always; Pray without ceasing; In everything, give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (NKJV)
If there's something I can mention, that has really kept me going in my salvation walk with Christ, it has to be the 3 things that this passage outlines:
JOY (a deep/intense condition of happiness and contentment),
PRAYER (an act of communion with God) &
THANKSGIVING (an offering to acknowledge appreciation)!!!
Many times in life, we get to a point where we feel burned out; exhausted beacause we feel we've been serve a raw deal by either God or the world. These are time when many give up or lose hope. This is caused by many relying on circumstances, things and/or man to give them a better lifestyle. So, when that which they hope in crumbles, they too crumble.
Yet, the bible is very clear about where our happiness and contentment should be based... in the Lord (see Phillipians 4v4).
When we learn to be joyful in Christ and not in situations, we become joyful even in situations. We need to learn to develop a kind of lifestyle that is ALWAYS IN COMMUNION WITH GOD (Prayer); a life that is that is ALWAYS FILLED WITH CONTENTMENT (Joy); a life that is ALWAYS FILLED WITH ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF GOD'S GOODNESS AND ABILITY (Thanksgiving).
We need to realize that being thankful in everything is not the same as being thankful for everything.... what the Bible means by IN EVERYTHING is that, though you may be going through trying times, don't ever lose sight of God's goodness; so there for always give thanks to God even in the trying seasons... IN EVERYTHING... IN ALL THINGS. That is why David said in Psalm 26v13, "I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living" (KJV).
So, therefore, in always acknowledging the goodness of God, praying and being joyful, even in trials, yields victory through trials.
Scripture references: 1 Peter 1v6,7; James 1v2-4; 1 Peter 5v8-9; Ephesians 6v18
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for keeping me until this very minute; I owe my existence to You; please teach me to understand the importance of being in communion with You at all time. From this day onwards, I will exercise living in joy in You and living a life of prayer and praise to Your Name; This I proclaim, thankfully in Jesus' Name, AMEN
